Family:  Gobiidae (Gobies), subfamily: Gobiinae
Max. size:  7.4 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 2 - 9 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: known only from northern Australia, from Shark Bay, Western Australia to Decapolis Reef, Queensland.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits very silty to muddy sand patches near rocks and corals. Occurs only in turbid near-shore reefs of the Great Barrier Reef. Feeds on small invertebrates, particularly copepods by sifting sand.
