Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 385 - 950 m
Distribution:  South Atlantic: Kit Range and Rui-Grande Peak. Indian Ocean: Madagascar Ridge. Western Central Pacific: Australia and New Caledonia. Southeast Pacific: Sala y Gomez Ridge.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 1-1; Dorsal soft rays (total): 54-63; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 103-105; Vertebrae: 69-71. Head and body pale tan with darker brown on snout and orbit, abdomen bluish with silvery sheen, fins dark blue-brown to black.
Biology:  A benthic species found on the continental slope (Ref. 75154).
