Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Vertebrae: 36-37. Differs from its congeners by possessing the supraorbital sensory pores s6 placed close together, a narrow opercular patch of developed odontodes, with 8-10 odontodes, and 8 branched pectoral rays (Ref. 56791).
Biology:  Found mainly in fast moving clear water (Ref. 56791).
