Family:  Trichomycteridae (Pencil or parasitic catfishes), subfamily: Trichomycterinae
Max. size:  11.45 cm (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  South America: endemic to Bolivia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Cave-restricted species. Distinct populations are found only in the Umajalanta Cave in Torotoro National Park, located high in the Bolivian Andes around an altitude of 1,980 - 2,280 m (Ref. 57918).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 23 April 2014 Ref. (130435)
