Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea (Ref. 8883). Reported to have formed a hybrid with Thalassoma lunare (Ref. 41655).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits reef margins and seaward slopes (Ref. 9710). Minimum depth reported from Ref. 9710.
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 06 March 2009 Ref. (130435)
