Max. size:  4.06 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; depth range 5 - 20 m,
Distribution:  Africa: known from the Burundi shore of Lake Tanganyika (Ref. 103921).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in rocky habitats; feeds on algae; cave brooder that selects tiny holes in substrate as nesting sites (Ref. 46829). Forms temporary pair bonds; the male defends the territory while the female takes care of her offspring (Ref. 7343).
