Distribution:  Africa: Congo River basin from the rapids just below Pool Malebo (= Stanley Pool) (Ref. 82238) up to the Luongo River (Luapula tributary, upper Congo River basin) (Ref. 27609). Report from the upper reaches of the Tchad basin (Ref. 367) or the Cuanza (Angolan Atlantic coastal) (Ref. 120641) unconfirmed and questionable (Ref. 3202, 78218, 82238).
