Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7 - 7.5; dH range: 15 - 20; depth range - 10 m
Distribution:  Asia: Amur basin in Russia and China; Mongolia (Ref. 57778); Viet Nam (Ref. 89724); and Japan (Ref. 78994).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 37-39
Biology:  Found on coarse sandy bottoms of lakes (Ref. 38401). Feeds on aquatic insects, gammarids, small gastropods and zooplankton (Ref. 38401). Adults spawn at the end of June (Ref. 1441 as G. ussuriensis).
