Family:  Macrouridae (Grenadiers or rattails)
Max. size:  16 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; marine; depth range 600 - 690 m
Distribution:  Eastern Indian to Western Pacific: Western Australia and Fiji.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 2-2. Distinguished by 3 broad horizontal plate-like processes from nasal bones closely adjoining along mesial edges; pelvic fin ray 9 (Ref. 98298); outer prolonged ray of pelvic fin slightly broadened and flattened distally; total gill rakers on first arch (outer/inner) 8/11 (Ref. 35908).
Biology:  A benthic species found on the continental slope (Ref. 75154). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
