Max. size:  10 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia and Oceania: Indonesia, New Guinea, Bougainville and Marquesas islands. It seems likely that the Marquesas specimens may represent a different species.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 10-10
Biology:  Occurs in coastal creeks with gravel and boulder bottoms.

Threat to humans:  harmless
