Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: India, Myanmar and Yunnan in China. Found in the Irrawaddy basin (Ref. 39226). Reported from Bangladesh (Ref. 1479).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 12-12; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Absence of processus dentiformis.
Biology:  Inhabits streams with gravelly bottom (Ref. 41236).
