Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 33 - 280 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Red Sea to the west coast of India.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-11; Dorsal soft rays (total): 22-24; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 17-18
Biology:  Oviparous (Ref. 205). Form pairs during breeding (Ref. 205). Maximum depth reported taken from Ref. 9773.
