Distribution:  South America: Rio Iguaçu of the rio Paraná basin in Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-8; Anal soft rays: 6-6; Vertebrae: 32-32. Description: D i+7; A i+5; P i+6; V i+5 (Ref. 79021).
Biology:  Occurs in river with brown muddy and medium to fast flowing water over a sandy bottom (Ref. 79021). Its habitat has little or no marginal vegetation, mainly formed by grass or bushes (Ref. 79021).
