Distribution:  Asia: Eastern Asia and Taiwan (Ref. 41299); Russia (Ref. 53210). Introduced elsewhere. At least one country reports adverse ecological impact after introduction (Ref. 1739).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal soft rays: 13-14. Description: D iii,10~11; A iii,10~11; scales in longitudinal row 32~34; scales in transverse row 10~11 (Ref. 41299).
Biology:  Found in shallow ponds and marshes of plains, and adjacent irrigation canals (Ref. 41299).
