Max. size:  21.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish
Distribution:  Africa: Restricted to the eastern drainages of Madagascar.
Diagnosis:  Expansive second pharyngobranchial tooth plates with 4-7 rows of closely set teeth (Ref. 50642). A yellowish to golden base coloration with a horizontal series of well-defined black blotches situated mid-laterally on the flank (Ref. 50642).
