Family:  Pomacentridae (Damselfishes), subfamily: Pomacentrinae
Max. size:  7 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 10 - 20 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: known only from Madang, Papua New Guinea, but certainly more widespread. Possibly occurring in Taiwan.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 13-13; Dorsal soft rays (total): 14-15; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 15-16
Biology:  Adults inhabit inshore areas, among rocky outcrops and debris on sand (Ref. 9710). They occur singly or in small groups. Feed primarily on algae. Oviparous, distinct pairing during breeding (Ref. 205). Eggs are demersal and adhere to the substrate (Ref. 205). Males guard and aerate the eggs (Ref. 205).
