Max. size:  100 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 50 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Kenya to Durban, Comoros, Madagascar and Seychelles (Ref. 58304) to Sri Lanka (Ref. 123477)..
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Juveniles in seagrass beds. Large adults solitary or in small groups. Caught with line and apparently an excellent food fish (Ref. 58304).
