Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 0 - 1463 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: Madeira and Canary Islands and off South Africa. Western Atlantic: USA to Bahamas. Indo-west-central Pacific Ocean: Australia (Ref. 7300).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 17-29; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 21-24
Biology:  Meso- and bathypelagic (Ref. 58302).
