Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 200 - 600 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean, from Durban to at least southern Mozambique, along the east coast of South Africa.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 11-12; Dorsal soft rays (total): 8-9; Anal spines: 3-3; Anal soft rays: 5-5
