Family:  Aplocheilidae (Killifishes)
Max. size:  9.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: western and northern Madagascar and adjacent islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in brooks and small rivers, mostly in quiet parts (Ref. 3788). Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139); prefers aquaria with rocks, plants and driftwood (Ref. 6398).
