Family:  Apogonidae (Cardinalfishes), subfamily: Apogoninae
Max. size:  6.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 8 - 32 m
Distribution:  Indian Ocean: Bali to Flores, Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 8-8; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 2-2; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Description: Characterized by thin, dark, midlateral stripe; lower half of side with faint brown bars; middle of caudal fin base with black spot, pearly white anterior edge; tip of first dorsal fin black; greatest depth of body 3.1-3.2 in SL (Ref. 90102).
Biology:  Solitary or in small groups on open sand during night and in coral crevices during day (Ref 90102).
