Family:  Hemerocoetidae (Indo-Pacific duckbills)
Max. size:  4.2 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  bathydemersal; marine; depth range 260 - 450 m
Distribution:  Southeast Pacific: known from three seamounts at the junction of the Nazca and Sala y Gomez ridges (between 25°19'-25°48'S and 85°05'-86°03'W) and three seamounts in the west of the Sala y Gomez ridges (between 25°03'-26°00'S and 97°29'-100°40'W).
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-6; Dorsal soft rays (total): 18-20; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 22-23; Vertebrae: 32-32. Head large, 2.6-2.8 in SL (Ref. 41739).
