Family:  Adrianichthyidae (Ricefishes), subfamily: Oryziinae
Max. size:  4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; brackish
Distribution:  Asia: India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in brackish waters and estuaries, usually in shallow lagoons and swamps among roots and mangroves along the margins of waters, and readily adapts to freshwater conditions and even spawns in freshwater (Ref. 41236).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 26 June 2010 Ref. (130435)
