Family:  Cyprinodontidae (Pupfishes), subfamily: Orestiinae
Max. size:  7 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Andean lakes of southeastern Peru, eastern Bolivia and northern Chile, including Lake Titicaca and the upper Amazon River basins.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Not a seasonal killifish. Is very difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).

Threat to humans:  harmless
