Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: Hainan Province, China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal soft rays: 12-13; Vertebrae: 39-41. Lateral line with 40-41 scales (modally 41); pre-dorsal scales modally 17; rounded tubercles on lower jaw rather large and arranging as 2 rows; head rather large; and body rather wide at anal origin (Ref. 95038).
