Max. size:  30 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater, potamodromous
Distribution:  Asia: Afghanistan, Pakistan, India, Bangladesh and Myanmar (Ref. 4833). Reported from Bhutan (Ref. 40882).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Adults inhabit clear as well as muddy rivers, streams, ponds and lakes (Ref. 41236).
IUCN Red List Status: Near Threatened (NT); Date assessed: 13 October 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
