Family:  Nothobranchiidae (African rivulines)
Max. size:  5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater, non-migratory
Distribution:  Africa: temporary pools and swamps of the lower Rufiji River, including its delta, in eastern Tanzania (Ref. 3788).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Occurs in temporary pools and swamps (Ref. 3788). Bottom spawner, 2-3 months incubation. Is easy to maintain in the aquarium (Ref. 27139).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 31 October 2018 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
