Max. size:  6.5 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 7.5 - 8.5; dH range: 15
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to the Zambian shores of Lake Tanganyika.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Hovers above the substrate to feed on zooplankton (Ref. 7343). Needs sand to build its nest. Forms a protecting and warning group of sexually inactive individuals around the breeding community (Ref. 7343).
