Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: Mozambique.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-10; Anal soft rays: 9-9; Vertebrae: 47-47. Branchiostegal rays 4. Caudal peduncle length 2.0 times the depth. Anterodorsal distance is 48-52% SL. Anteanal distance is 46% SL; long head, about 21% SL. Unpigmented scale pockets; adipose fin almost completely black (Ref. 41397).
