Family:  Bagridae (Bagrid catfishes)
Max. size:  18 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: India and Sri Lanka.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in rivers and ponds, commonly in muddy pools and tanks (Ref. 41236). Adults usually occur among marginal vegetation or roots in both still and slow-flowing waters. Feed on plants, shrimps. Insects and detritus (Ref. 6028). Oviparous, distinct pairing possibly like other members of the same family (Ref. 205).
