Family:  Pleuronectidae (Righteye flounders), subfamily: Microstominae
Max. size:  60 cm SL (male/unsexed); max.weight: 1,760.0 g
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 15 - 800 m
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: central Japan northward, southern Kuril Islands, Sakhalin, Sea of Japan, the Yellow Sea, Gulf of Bo Hai and East China Sea.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sand and mud bottoms (Ref. 9137, 11230).

Threat to humans:  harmless
