Family:  Sciaenidae (Drums or croakers)
Max. size:  90 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; brackish; marine; depth range 1 - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Pacific: Gulf of California to Peru.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found along sandy shores and bays, also in estuaries and lagoons (Ref. 9118). Feeds on shrimps, fishes, mollusks, other crustaceans, and worms (Ref. 9118). Common in local markets (Ref. 9118).
