Family:  Rivulidae (Rivulines), subfamily: Rivulinae
Max. size:  4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; pH range: 6.5 - 7, non-migratory
Distribution:  South America: Tapajós River basin, Brazil.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 10-11; Anal soft rays: 13-14; Vertebrae: 30-30. Sides of body and unpaired fins of males without dark markings. 31-35 total caudal-fin rays. Body depth always greater than 20.0% SL (Ref 26657).
Biology:  Not a seasonal killifish. Is difficult to maintain in aquarium (Ref. 27139).

Threat to humans:  harmless
