Max. size:  10 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine; depth range 0 - 20 m
Distribution:  Western Central Pacific: Indonesia.
Diagnosis:  Males with long filament extending from one or two rays of the tail (Ref. 48636).
Biology:  A shallow water species, forming small aggregations in well protected narrow bays or inlets. Usually in sponge habitats (Ref. 48636). Adults may be found solitary or in pairs (Ref. 90102). Oviparous. Eggs are demersal and adhesive (Ref. 205), and are attached to the substrate via a filamentous, adhesive pad or pedestal (Ref. 94114). Larvae are planktonic, often found in shallow, coastal waters (Ref. 94114). Mimics the young of Pentapodus trivittata (Ref. 90102). Minimum depth of 0 m reported from Ref.7401.
