Environment:  demersal; freshwater; pH range: 7.44999980926514; dH range: 10.5, non-migratory
Distribution:  Central America: El Potosí, Nuevo Leon, Mexico.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-11; Anal soft rays: 9-11
Biology:  An egg lying carnivorous fish which prefers rocky substrate near vegetation. Aquarium conditions: pH=7.3, H=12, 10°C water temperature (Ref. 6398). Not a seasonal killifish (Ref. 27139). A popular media fish.
