Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Mobile Bay drainage, Bear and Yellow Creek systems (in Tennessee River drainage) in Alabama and Mississippi, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sand-bottomed and clay-bottomed pools of headwaters, creeks and small rivers (Ref. 86798). Oviparous (Ref. 205).

Threat to humans:  harmless
