Max. size:  5.5 cm TL (male/unsexed); 3.5 cm TL (female)
Environment:  bathydemersal; freshwater; pH range: 8; dH range: 10 - 12
Distribution:  Africa: endemic to the central part of Lake Tanganyika.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Reportedly inhabits deep waters; over soft, muddy bottoms. Feeds on small shrimp. Belongs to the shell-dweller group of cichlids (Ref. 6770).
