Environment:  bathypelagic; marine; depth range 60 - 1000 m, oceanodromous
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic: from 30°N to about 24°N. North Atlantic: between 42°N and 21°N.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  High-oceanic, found between 550-1,000 m during the day and between 60-225 m at night ( maximum abundance between 100-150 m at night) (Ref. 4479).

Threat to humans:  harmless
