Max. size:  30 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; marine
Distribution:  Northwest Pacific: Japan, Taiwan, and the East China Sea.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 0-0; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-14; Anal spines: 0-0; Anal soft rays: 12-14. Body covered with prickles. Caudal fin emarginate. Body yellowish-brown or greenish-brown dorsally; silver ventrally. Pectoral and dorsal fins yellow or white; anal fin white; caudal fin yellow, edged with white dorsally and ventrally (Ref. 559).
