Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Endemic to Lake Malawi. Known only from the northwestern coast of the lake.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Aquarium keeping: many females for one male; minimum aquarium size 80 cm (Ref. 51539).
