Max. size:  4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic-neritic; marine
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: American Samoa and Pitcairn Island.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 5-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 13-17; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 20-25. Ramus of the ascending process of premaxilla with slight rounded elevation representing postmaxillary process. Dorsal edge of opercle with notch but no process above it.
Biology:  Inhabits surf and waves around rocky headlands and reefs. Nothing is known of the biology of this species (Ref. 9769).
