Distribution:  South America: Brazil.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  The species inhabits the clear headwaters of rivers, in moderate to strong current, on bottoms with loose stones and sandy patches, 700m above the sea level in the main remnant of the Atlantic Forest, southeastern Brazil (Ref. 52250).
