Max. size:  17.5 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 6 - 76 m, non-migratory
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: endemic to the Hawaiian Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits quiet sandy bottoms beyond the reef (Ref. 583). Benthopelagic or benthic (Ref. 58302).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 25 March 2009 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
