Family:  Leuciscidae (Minnows), subfamily: Pogonichthyinae
Max. size:  8.4 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  North America: Saluda, Savannah and Altamaha River drainages in South Carolina and Georgia, USA.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits sand and gravel pools and runs of creeks and small rivers (Ref. 5723).
IUCN Red List Status: Least Concern (LC); Date assessed: 16 February 2012 Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
