Max. size:  3 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 2 m
Distribution:  Western Indian Ocean: East Africa and islands in the Western Indian Ocean.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 7-7; Dorsal soft rays (total): 9-9; Anal spines: 1-1; Anal soft rays: 8-8. Body yellowish, with dark bars and spots (Ref. 2798); second dorsal-fin rays I,9; anal-fin rays I,8; pelvic-fin rays I,5; a lateral canal pore between infraorbital pore and terminal lateral canal pore; belly naked (Ref. 57078).
Biology:  Collected in the surge zone of seaward reefs (Ref. 9360).
