Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Asia: drainages in Southern China and part of Southwestern China.
Diagnosis:  Dorsal spines (total): 3-3; Dorsal soft rays (total): 7-7; Vertebrae: 43-44. A iii - 6; P i - 16 - 18; V i - 8. Body spots absent in adults. Elongated body with slightly convex dorsal profile. Head length somewhat longer than body depth. Snout length equal to postorbital head length. Lips well developed, lateral lobes of lower lip narrow, without folds, the median process is marked. Barbel slender, 1/2-2/3 of eye diameter. Dorsal spine slender, 2/3 of HL. Origin of dorsal fin equidistant between tip of snout and caudal base.
