Family:  Cichlidae (Cichlids), subfamily: Pseudocrenilabrinae
Max. size:  11.3 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria and the Victoria Nile.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits exposed littoral zones (Ref. 4983). The stomachs of the specimens which were examined contained fragments of plant tissue and numerous epiphytic algae (Ref. 558).
