Max. size:  17.8 cm SL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthopelagic; freshwater; depth range - 6 m
Distribution:  Africa: Lake Victoria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits littoral areas with a sand or sand and rock substrate. Most localities are exposed but one is a sheltered gulf (Ref. 4983). The stomachs of a small number of specimens which were examined contained remains of cyprinid and cichlid fish (Ref. 558).
