Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range - 10 m
Distribution:  Eastern Central Pacific: Malpelo Island.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found over coarse sand and gravel bottoms. Does not form schools (Ref. 9311). Minimum depth from Ref. 58018.
IUCN Red List Status: Vulnerable (VU); Date assessed: 23 May 2007 (D2) Ref. (130435)
Threat to humans:  harmless
