Max. size:  14 cm TL (male/unsexed)
Environment:  demersal; freshwater; brackish; marine, amphidromous
Distribution:  Asia: Korean Peninsula, Japan and Kuril Islands (Ref. 37812).
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  In the middle and lower reach of rivers, often in pools; there are cases in which the species spends its whole life in lakes and ponds. Euryhaline, but usually in freshwater (Ref. 37812); preferring slow-moving waters of rivers and lakes (Ref. 81467). Caught for food.
